College Assistance Program

Oakland, Maine

 

Messalonskee Masonic Lodge of Oakland Maine is pleased to announce we will be awarding one College Assistance scholarship of $500 to a student who is planning to pursue an education at a two or four year degree-granting institution; payable at the start of the second semester, provided a 2.75 or higher GPA is earned for the first semester.  The student must complete an application and submit it to the address below, post marked no later than the first of May, of the given year.

Messalonskee Masonic Lodge of Oakland Maine is part of the family of Freemasonry Organizations. Freemasonry teaches brotherly love, relief, truth, temperance, fortitude, prudence and justice. Eligibility Criteria

Be Graduating Senior from High School in the given year

Academic Excellence (2.75 or higher GPA)

Contribution to the community

Commitment to remain chemical free

Demonstrate financial need

Masonic Relationship (Rainbow or DeMolay, must be Graduating from Messalonskee High School, otherwise the Father, Brother, or

 Grandfather must be a Freemason in good standing, at Messalonskee Lodge #113, now or when they were deceased)

Complete a 2 to 3 page essay describing either:

1) What Masonry means to you and how Masonic influences have directed you through your life;

2) What community service or charity you are involved with has influenced you as person and/or community member.

        The application must be submitted with the supplemental documents to the following address:
